Identity Verification
If your FAFSA was selected for federal verification by the Department of Education, and we cannot process your financial aid offer until this has been resolved. This process requires you to present a valid government-issued photo ID, such as, but not limited to, a driver's license, other state-issued ID, or passport.
You can present this documentation in person at the Evanston Office of Graduate Financial Aid or virtually via Zoom. If you wish to do so virtually, you can schedule a Zoom appointment here. Please note that, due to a high volume of processing, we are currently taking appointments on Wednesdays and for verification purposes only.
We ask that you submit the requested documentation within three weeks to avoid any delays in the disbursement of your aid.
Find Your Aid Year
For students in the McCormick School of Engineering and the School of Education and Social Policy:
- The academic year runs from the Summer quarter through the Spring quarter, so the Spring 2027 quarter is the last term of the 2026-2027 academic year. The Summer 2027 quarter is the first term of the 2027-2028 academic year.
For students in the Bienen School of Music, The Graduate School, and the School of Communication:
- The academic year runs from the Fall quarter through the Summer quarter, so the Summer 2027 quarter is the last term of the 2026-2027 academic year. The Fall 2027 quarter is the first term of the 2027-2028 academic year.
