Let’s Talk
Let’s Talk is a program for Northwestern students that offers drop-in consultations with a member of the Chicago CAPS staff. These consultation meetings are informal, friendly, and confidential.
Let’s Talk is not a substitute for formal counseling and doesn't constitute mental health treatment, but the Let’s Talk Consultants will listen to your specific concerns, offer support/resources, and introduce you to what it’s like to speak with a member of our staff.
If you know you are interested in connecting to CAPS therapy or referral services, please schedule an Initial Assessment by calling CAPS at (847) 491-2151 or schedule an appointment online.
What to expect:
- Your Let’s Talk meeting may last up to 10-20 minutes
- Speaking with a Let’s Talk Consultant can provide insight, solutions, and information about resources
- No topic is off limits. Common concerns include: stress, sadness, worry/anxiety, academic performance, life transitions, imposter syndrome, homesickness, sleep problems, romantic relationship concerns, family problems, cultivating friendships and a sense of belonging, cultural or racial barriers, concentration difficulties, and more.
