Monica Lewers is a business administrator and diversity management expert who specializes in business development, project management, data and information facilitation, and training. She has dedicated her life’s work to eliminating economic and health disparities especially for African Americans. Throughout her 40-year career, she has assisted a multitude of organizations by designing strategies and managing projects for recruitment, retention, outreach, training, and operational efficiencies. Her scope of experience spans healthcare, consulting, corporate, nonprofit, academia, and government institutions.

She has had the privilege of working with individuals at every level of an organization and from all walks of life. This breadth of experience has placed her in an extraordinary position to understand and partner to achieve the goals and objectives of multidimensional organizations, multi-cultural groups, multi-disciplinary projects.

Currently, Monica is a Research Administrator at the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute, Clinical Trials Unit, Feinberg School of Medicine. Prior to joining Northwestern, she was an independent consultant in the areas of diversity and health. She began her career working and holding leadership roles for Amoco Corporation, Women’s Self-Employments Project, James H. Lowry & Associates, and The Boston Consulting Group.

Monica holds a BA in Computer Studies from Weinberg and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management. She is also a certified health coach, personal trainer, corrective exercise specialist, fitness nutrition specialist.
