Charles C.M. Kellom is a father, writer, and expert in social justice and organizational change, originally from Cincinnati, Ohio.

Currently, Charles serves as the Talent Management & Engagement Program Manager within the Office of Human Resources at Northwestern University. Before 2025, Charles was a diversity and social justice expert with over 20 years of experience. At Ohio Wesleyan University, Charles was the Assistant Dean for the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs, responsible for the overall development and retention of students of color, LGBTQ+ students, first-generation college students, and/or low-income students. Charles previously worked at Northwestern, first as Director of African American Student Affairs, and later as the Director for Multicultural Students. Charles held similar positions at George Mason University, and the University of Dayton.

Outside of higher education, Charles served as the Senior Director for DEI at the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), leading the organization’s international DEI strategy. He also spent time as a consultant with Tangible Development, helping clients from all sectors of the professional world – including financial institutions, healthcare organizations, a biosciences firm, non-profit arts organizations, and governmental institutions – to engage employees in organizational change through a DEI lens, and measure their climate of inclusion.

Charles holds Bachelor of Arts in journalism and a Master of Arts in English, both from the University of Dayton, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Hamline University. He is a father of two sons, and life-partner to Elizabeth.
