Continuing Education

For the 2020 Big Ten Counseling Centers Conference, Northwestern University CAPS has partnered with Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care to manage continuing education.  (For approved professions, please note that 6.5 hrs is the maximum number of credits offered for this conference, and assumes attendance at all hours of keynote and workshop programming.)
 
In support of improving patient care, Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Nurses:  This activity is awarded 6.5 contact hours (60 min CH).
Physicians:  Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. 
Psychologists: Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care maintains responsibility for the program and its content.  Instructional Level:  Introductory.  (6.5 CE Credits).  

 As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care maintains responsibility for this course. Social workers completing this course receive 6.5 general continuing education credits.


Social Workers (The New Jersey Board of Social Work Examiners):  This program is approved for social work continuing education hours by Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care in accordance with New Jersey administrative code 13:44G-6.4 and recognized by The New Jersey Board of Social Work Examiners. This program is approved for 6.5 general continuing education hours.   

Please note that conference programming is under review by NBCC, so continuing education credits for certified counselors are not approved at this time. Attendees will be notified of any changes or updates as soon as additional information becomes available.
 
Certified Counselors:  Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6198.  Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care is solely responsible for all aspects of the program.
