Northwestern's Alcohol Policy and Essential NU
Northwestern University would like to remind you that the consumption of alcohol under the age of 21 is against Illinois state law and University rules. Although alcohol use does not present a problem for most students, alcohol abuse is an issue that affects the entire community. Since most students favor activism and prevention efforts over negativism and disciplinary action, our school is always looking for innovative ways to enhance our comprehensive alcohol strategy and to promote the responsible use of alcohol both on- and off- campus. Because of this, Northwestern University offers students several different ways to fulfill an Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) requirement to ensure that our new students are educated on the facts versus myths of alcohol; these will be completed through the Essential NU requirements.
