What is the First-Year Experience?
The First-Year Experience area within the Office of New Student and Family Programs is responsible for providing programs, processes, and communication that will help to enrich the first year for students at Northwestern. In collaboration with various departments, offices, and academic areas, Northwestern strives to support students throughout their transition to the community, including social and academic transition.
As a first-year student, if you are just not sure where to go or who to ask on any concern you may have, contact Josh McKenzie, Director for the First-Year Experience, at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Your epic experience with Wildcat Welcome doesn’t end the first day of class! The first month is a crucial time to become acclimated to the Northwestern community and connect with peers. As an extension of Wildcat Welcome, a series of programs have been created for you to participate in, to assist with social and academic transition. Wildcat Weekends is a time for you to continue the exploration and discovery of the University (and yourself) that began during Wildcat Welcome. The first four weekends of the 2014 fall quarter will focus on programming specific for the Class of 2018 and new transfer students.
