The Asian/Asian American Student Experience
During Wildcat Welcome, Asian/Asian American Student Affairs and the Asian/Asian American student groups host the annual Asian/Asian American Student Experience for new students (freshmen and transfers). This program offers new students insight into what the college experience is like for Asian and Asian American students at Northwestern. New students also learn how to get involved in the Asian/Asian American community through various opportunities and resources.
Mentoring Program
The purpose of the Mentoring Program is to assist the transition process to life at Northwestern for new Asian and Asian American students. Upperclass mentors assist freshmen and transfer students in developing a sense of belonging while also helping them navigate campus and determine what they want to accomplish during their time in college.
Asian American Heritage Month
During Asian American Heritage Month, the Northwestern community acknowledges this nationally recognized month (May) throughout the spring quarter. Programming for Heritage Month, which actually spans from April through early June, includes cultural shows, films, speakers, presentations, discussions and social gatherings. For the Asian/Asian American community at Northwestern, this part of the year is a time to celebrate culture, tradition, and talent.
