SAW Participant Application Information

How to Apply

We are so excited you are considering SAW! Before you apply, please review the Summer Academic Workshop page to ensure you are aware of the eligibility requirements and important dates.

SAW Selection Process

1. SAW Information Sent to Eligible Students: The week of May 6th, students eligible for SAW will receive an email to their Northwestern email from Admission.  If you do not receive this email and believe you meet the eligibility requirements, please contact SAW at saw@northwestern.edu.
2. Application: The application must be completed fully by 11:59 pm on Tuesday, June 4th. Follow SES @nu_ses on Instagram if you want a reminder as the deadline approaches.
3. Selection: Applicants will be notified about their status by Wednesday, June 19

Participant Restrictions

• Participation in other Northwestern summer programs/activities
  • SAW participants are unable to participate in SAW if they are planning to or already committed to programs/activities that overlap with SAW program dates: Saturday, August 24-Friday, September 13, 2024. Programs that overlapped with SAW in past years include, but are not limited to:
    • Marching Band
    • Bridge Program
  • SAW will also prioritize applicants who are not already committed to another FGLI summer program (i.e. Bio&ChemEXCEL, HODGE Excel), in order for all incoming FGLI students to have the opportunity to participate in at least one of the FGLI summer programs at Northwestern.
• Non-SAW Commitments
  • SAW participants should not plan any trips home or plan to miss any SAW programming from Saturday, August 24-Friday, September 13, 2024. Exceptions will be made on case-by-case basis as we know life events can impact participation.

Application

The SAW application will be available Tuesday, May 7, 2024.
