Training Grant Toolkit

Training grants at Northwestern provide funding, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for outstanding predoctoral students and postdoctoral trainees in research-training environments. Important components of training programs include promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in research environments; training in rigor and reproducibility; opportunities for professional development and career exploration; mentor training and development; and the ability of a program to evaluate its effectiveness to ensure it meets the needs of its trainees and continues to promote their personal and professional success.

The Training Grant Toolkit collects and curates the resources available at Northwestern that can help training grant programs achieve success in each of these components. The resources included in each section below allow programs to tailor programmatic efforts to best suit their goals and the needs of individual trainees.
