Become a Moderator

a group of students sit outside on a sunny day on the grass, having a discussion.

Sustained Dialogue groups are co-moderated by two student facilitators (undergraduate or graduate students) who have completed at least one quarter of Sustained Dialogue as a participant. Moderators attend bi-weekly team meetings throughout the quarter to learn facilitation strategies and connect with other moderators about the progress of their groups. Every moderator receives an honorarium at the end of the quarter as compensation for their time and labor.

Moderator training occurs throughout the year in collaboration with the Sustained Dialogue Institute. SJE sponsors registration for a select number of students each session. View the SD Institute online registration page to learn more about upcoming training dates. Questions? Contact
