Home is wherever my family is. Currently, that’s Park Ridge, but I spent about a decade in Southern California, and so I have friends and family there that feel like "home" too, as well as in Iowa, where I was born.
What do you do at Northwestern?
I’m the Administrative Assistant for Social Justice Education. I help our staff get things done, and I like to think of myself as the hub! I help keep everyone connected and things moving along. In addition to that work, I am also a program assistant for our Gender and Sexuality Resource Center. There I manage our OA staff and assist the director ot the GSRC with a variety of tasks and programs.
What groups/committees/communities are you part of at NU?
I’m on the Recruitment and Selection Committee for Campus Inclusion and Community. I'm also part of the Out Network Leadership Council, and I'm the staff advisor for Out Da Box!
What are you passionate about?
I come from a theatre background so I’m really passionate about the arts. I love all things theatre. I’m also very passionate about making everyone feel welcome and at ease. You should feel free to be authentically you, always!
What are some moments/accomplishments/project that you have been proud of?
I’m really proud of my twin sons, Will and Finn. They have really focused me and my life, and I’m really proud to be their mama. I’m also proud of the inclusion and diversity I fostered during my time with my previous position. I created a cast and space that could be a welcoming and affirming home for any actor that wanted to join us.
Where can you be found on campus?
Typically, in my office in Scott Hall (007), or over in the GSRC in my office there. If not there, definitely out on campus enjoying some sun by the lake!
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to sew and craft! Making costumes is my jam. I also love to spend time playing board games and role-playing games (RPGs) with my friends and eating pizza.
