SJE seeks passionate, detail-oriented, and energetic undergraduate interns who can manage multiple specialized projects and demonstrates a commitment to social justice and inclusion.

These positions work closely with the Assistant Directors of Social Justice Education to assist with developing Peer Inclusion Educator Program and Sustained Dialogue logistics, recruitment, facilitation and facilitator development.

SJE offers two Graduate Assistant positions. A graduate assistant is a part-time employee who is directly supervised by one of our full-time staff members. Each position serves as a content expert for one of the following program:

  • Peer Inclusion Educators
  • Sustained Dialogue

In addition, the GA is also given the opportunity to work across a variety of initiatives within the office and facilitate social justice trainings and workshops.

Peer Inclusion Educator

Are you looking to get more involved with SJE, learn how to facilitate social justice trainings, and support student organizations centering social identity, access, and inclusion in their programming? Then join the Peer Inclusion Educator team for 2020 - 2021!

You should check out the Peer Inclusion Educators! Peer Inclusion Educators (PIEs) are trained peer-facilitators who develop and lead workshops on identity, power/oppression and inclusion with undergraduate and graduate students at Northwestern. PIE facilitators lead specific and intentional programming for groups all over campus, including Greek houses, residential communities, and other student organizations. Facilitators who meet minimum expectations of the role can qualify for an honorarium at the end of the quarter as compensation for their time and labor.
