All Northwestern student groups are open to all members of the Northwestern community. Facilitation of and participation in Northwestern-sanctioned events must comply with the student code of conduct and university policies.

Rainbow Alliance

Rainbow Alliance is a barrier-free, undergraduate LGBTQIA+ and ally student organization dedicated to fostering a welcoming community, building safe spaces for students of all genders and sexualities, and advocating for the needs of Northwestern’s LGBTQIA+ student community. NU STANS (Society of Transgender and Non-Binary Students)

stans-logo-jpeg.jpgNU STANS is organization that makes space for Northwestern students to engage in ideas and activities related to the trans and non-binary experience. The group hosts monthly events that have in the past ranged from clothing swaps to trivia nights. STANS work towards creating a more inclusive and trans-aware campus through hosting events and community experiences!  If you would like to get involved with STANS follow us on instagram (@northwestern.stans) or fill out our interest form to get onto our listserv.

 

Queer Pride Graduate Student Association (QPGSA)

The Queer Pride Graduate Student Association is an award-winning social and advocacy group for graduate students enrolled in The Graduate School of Northwestern University. Founded in 2005, QPGSA is committed to develop a sense of community among the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and allied members of Northwestern's graduate student community.

QPGSA is currently looking for graduate students that would like to help plan social events! If you are a graduate student interested in staying up-to-date on QPGSA happenings sign-up for their mailing list. Ga'avah

Ga’avah (meaning “pride” in Hebrew) is an LGBTQIA+ affinity space at Northwestern Hillel. The group aims to create a safe space for LGBTQ+ students in a Jewish space, all students are welcome. Learn more through Northwestern Hillel.

Trans in Classics

Trans in Classics is an international organization that seeks to promote and produce scholarship that discusses trans identities, issues and readings, founded in 2020. This group operates under the auspices of the Society for Classical Studies in the US. If you know of anyone who has an interest in trans studies and the ancient world, please feel free to direct them to Trans in Classics! Students participants are provided support and mentorship, as well as resources and consultation to engage more purposefully with trans issues in their scholarship or pedagogy.

oSTEM

Out in STEM's (oSTEM) undergraduate chapter aims to create community around the ideas, concepts and activities related to LGBTQIA+ contributors to STEM and STEM's contributions to the lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals. oSTEM offers social events, workshops, study spaces, professor talks, and more to support STEM students personally and professionally.

Spectra

Spectra is an association for graduate and undergraduate mathematicians created to promote visibility and foster community committed to the well-being and professional development of LGBTQ+ mathematicians. NU's spectra is open to all students! If you are interested in attending our events, please visit our website, subscribe to our listserv, join our discord, or apply for chapter membership. Queer Media Association at Northwestern

QMA is a student group and affiliate chapter of the NLGJA. Students interested in story telling, journalism, and professional development are encouraged to join and explore opportunities to get involved. Find the groups stories and info on their instagram.

Northwestern OUTLaw

Northwestern OUTlaw is a student group for Northwestern Law students. Learn about events through their instagram and by signing up for their listserv.

Pride@Kellogg

Pride@Kellogg is one of Kellogg's most active and visible student organizations, and has established Kellogg as the top business school for LGBT MBA students worldwide. Pride@Kellogg has existed at Kellogg since 1992. Over its life, the organization has actively worked to improve the professional, academic and social lives of LGBT Kellogg students, their friends and allies.

goSTEM

oSTEM's graduate chapter aims to create community around the ideas, concepts, and activities related to LGBTQIA+ contributors to STEM and STEM's contributions to the lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals. goSTEM hosts social events and provides mentorship opportunities that are open to all NU students.

These are groups who make consistent efforts to ensure the content of their work and organizational culture include LGBTQIA+ experiences:

SHAPE

If you are looking for sexual health resources or would like to help lead sexual health education on campus consider engaging with SHAPE. SHAPE is a peer education group affiliated with CARE that is survivor-centered, sex-positive, and social justice oriented. We combat rape culture and work to create a culture of healthy sexuality through education, public events, and an open dialogue on sexual health, sex positivity, and sexual assault.

Out Network Evanston and Out Network Chicago are two employee resource groups that support the advancement and belonging of LGBTQIA+ employees on Northwestern's Evanston and Chicago campuses.
