Mass., president and CEO of eRoom Technology, was elected to the board
of overseers of Boston's Museum of Science.
Karen Berger (Mu80)
of Bronxville, N.Y., specializes in travel, adventure and environmental
writing. Her eighth book is Hiking the Triple Crown (Mountaineers
Books, 2001).
Stephen T. Ganyard (WCAS80) of Washington,
D.C., is at the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins
University as a Commandant of the Marine Corps Fellow. He and his wife,
Christopher (WCAS80), have three children.
Robert M. Jarvis (WCAS80) of Fort
Lauderdale, Fla., professor of law at Nova Southeastern University in
Fort Lauderdale, is co-editor of Bush v. Gore: The Fight for Florida's
Vote (Kluwer Law International, 2001). It is the 11th book he has
either written or edited.
Steven Simington (McC80) of Matteson,
Ill., is with Attachmate Corp., a software company, as regional consulting
manager for the western United States and for the airline industry. His
wife, Gail Troupe (WCAS81), is a lecturer
at Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill., and Robert Morris College in
Orland Park, Ill. Their children are Ian and Benjamin.
Nike Wagner (G80)
of Berlin, Germany, is a music critic, cultural commentator and
author of reviews and essays on European cultural history and contemporary
German history. She wrote The Wagners: The Dramas of a Musical Dynasty
(Princeton University Press, 2001).
Mary Baglivo (GJ81) of Short Hills,
N.J., became president of Panoramic Communications in New York City in
August. She had been executive vice president and chief operating officer
at J. Walter Thompson.
Christina Calvit (S81)
of Chicago is an ensemble member of the Lifeline Theatre and is
noted for her adaptations. She adapted Jane Eyre for a run from
January through May.
James Marshall Crotty (S81)
of Los Angeles, executive editor of Monk Media in Los Angeles,
manages an international team of more than 100 writers and photographers
who provide content for a wide range of magazines, newspapers and Web
sites. He has written several books, including How to Talk American
(Houghton Mifflin, 1997).
Yung-ku Ha (KGSM81) of Seoul, South
Korea, was named president of KorAmBank, in May. He is the youngest chief
in the history of Korean banking.
David Hoover (KGSM81) of Whitefish
Bay, Wis., is the CEO of the Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin. He has
been active in both the legal and medical arenas.
David Satterfield (GJ81)
of San Jose, Calif., is the business editor of the San Jose
Mercury News, supervising 70 reporters in New York, Washington, D.C.,
and Seattle. He was city editor at the Miami Herald in 1997 when
the Herald won a Pulitzer Prize for coverage of voter fraud during
the Miami mayoral election.

of Chicago is vice president, creative director of Leo Burnett
Co. and serves as vice president of the board of the Modern Poetry Association,
which has published Poetry since 1912.
Carl K. Chang (GMcC82) of Woodridge,
Ill., is director of the Institute for Reconfigurable Smart Components
at Auburn University in Auburn, Ala.
Brian Duffy (GJ82) of Washington,
D.C., was named editor of U.S. News & World Report in July.
Marg Helgenberger (S82) of New York
City is starring as an investigator in the CBS series "CSI: Crime Scene
Investigation."
John Mark Kowalski (S82) of New York
City works with emotionally disturbed children and adolescents at the
Hawthorne Cedar Knolls school district in Hawthorne, N.Y. He earned a
doctorate in school psychology at Fordham University in the Bronx, N.Y.,
in the spring.
Sang Yong Lee (GMcC82) of Taejon,
South Korea, a professor at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and
Technology, was named a fellow of the American Society of Technical Engineers.
Dorothy Jane Magrath (GMu82)
of Norman, Okla., is a professor and director of piano pedagogy
at Oklahoma University. In March she received the first Frances Clark
Keyboard Pedagogy Award from the Music Teachers National Association for
her book, The Pianist's Guide to Standard Teaching and Performance
Literature (Alfred Publishing Co., 2000). A performing pianist, she
has had more than 30 volumes of standard classical teaching literature
published and used throughout the United States and abroad.
Bruce Mainzer (G82) of Highland Park,
Ill., is senior vice president of marketing at Travel Click in Schaumburg,
Ill.
Rose Martinelli (Mu82, GMu84) of
Philadelphia is the director of graduate admissions at the University
of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business.
John Mercer (L82)
of Polson, Mont., was speaker of Montana's House of Representatives
for four sessions. An attorney, he was appointed to the board of regents,
which oversees university activities in Montana, in May. He and his wife,
Tina, have two sons.
Thomas Montag (KGSM82) of Toyko,
Japan, is co-president of Toyko operations for the Goldman Sachs group.
Candace Taylor (S82) of Boulder,
Colo., is assistant professor of theater at the University of Colorado
and appeared in the Colorado Shakespeare Festival's productions of King
Lear and As You Like It in the summer.

John Logan (S83) of Evanston received
an Academy Award nomination for co-writing the movie Gladiator.
Dana Micucci (WCAS83, G87) of New
York City is a correspondent for Art and Antiques Magazine in New
York. Author of Artists in Residence (The Little Bookroom, 2001),
a guide to the homes and studios of 19th-century artists in and around
Paris, she lived and worked as a writer in Paris and traveled throughout
Europe, North America, Asia, Africa and Australia.

N.J., is president and chief operating officer of DuPont Pharmaceuticals
Co. in Wilmington, Del.
Fred Ruegsegger (KGSM83) of San Jose,

Joseph Dysko (McC84)
of Wildwood, Mo., is executive director of clinical engineering
for the Sisters of Mercy Health System in St. Louis. He and his wife,

Rodney Ferguson (L84) of Hillsborough,
Calif., a general partner in J.P. Morgan Partners, J.P. Morgan Chase's
equity group in San Francisco, was appointed to the board of directors
of Santarus, a San Diego pharmaceutical company.
Vince Gerasole (WCAS84) of Evanston
is a news anchor at WBBM-TV in Chicago, where he was an intern as a Northwestern
student. He is married to Heidi, and they have two daughters, Isabella
and Olivia. He previously worked in Atlanta and as a Washington, D.C.,
correspondent for Cox Broadcasting.

Mass., is vice president, general counsel and secretary of Kay Bee Toys

is president of WWS Technologies, parent company of InterfaithAccess.net,
and manages company operations.
Lily Jung (M84, 86) of Bellevue,
Wash., is medical director of the Madison Clinic in Seattle.

Stefan Rosner (McC84) of Palo Alto,
Calif., is a payload systems engineer in the Space Projects Division at
the NASA Ames Research Center. He received the NASA Space Flight Awareness
Program's Silver Snoopy Award for his accomplishments as lead engineer
for the Space Station Biological Research Project. He and his wife, Julaine,
are the parents of Zachary.

Martha Allen (GJ85) of Chicago is
chief of staff of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

of Chicago is an associate brand manager at Wrigley Health Care,
a division of the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. She is introducing the division's

Mark Finley (G85)
of Ashburn, Va., is the senior economist with BP America in its
Washington, D.C., office.
Mark M. Havens (L85) of Lewiston,
Idaho, is director of community relations for Lewiston Independent School
District and executive director of the Lewiston Independent Foundation
for Education. He wrote Dream Big: Creating and Growing Your School
Foundation (National School Public Relations Association, 2000).
Gregory Irvine (GMu85, 01) of Charlottetown,
Prince Edward Island, teaches in the music department of the University
of Prince Edward Island. He and his wife, Sue, have a son, Adrian.
William Kuhn (GMu85)
of Seward, Neb., is director of instrumental music at Concordia
University in Seward. After teaching at the Hong Kong International School
for 13 years, he received his doctorate in education from the University
of Nebraska at Lincoln in 2000.
Tina Pickett-Baisden (WCAS85) of
Franklin, Mich., a board-certified dermatologist, has a practice in Southfield,
Mich. She and her husband, Anthony Baisden, have two daughters, Kendall
and Karrington.
Stephen A. Rothschild (S85, L88) of
Toledo, Ohio, partner in the law firm Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick LLP, was
awarded the 2001 Harry Levison Young Leadership Award by the United Jewish
Council of Toledo. He and his wife, Cheryl Goodman

Books, 2001) under the pen name of Allie Shaw. She combines her writing,
reading, public speaking and cultural efforts with being a full-time mother.

Larry Poston (G86, 88) of Valley
Cottage, N.Y., teaches comparative religious studies at Nyack College
in Nyack, N.Y. He and his wife celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary
with a trip around the world, visiting former students in Sweden, Egypt,
Kenya, Thailand, South Korea and Japan.

Susan Colbert Threats (S86) of St.
Louis is assistant professor of clinical medicine at Washington University
School of Medicine in St. Louis. She has completed her first year as owner
of Central West End Internal Medicine, a primary care practice, and is
a fellow of the American College of Physicians. Her husband, Travis
Threats (GS90), is an assistant professor
in the department of communication disorders at St. Louis University.
He serves as liaison to the World Health Organization for the American
Speech and Hearing Association. They have two children.
Sona Wang (KGSM86) of Evanston,
a partner at Inroads Capital, was named chair of the Springboard Midwest
2001 venture capital forum hosted at Northwestern in May. She is a University
trustee and a member of the Council of One Hundred.

is on leave from Stanford University. She received an Outstanding Leader
Award at the Leadership Education and Development Program in Business
at its 20th anniversary gala in May.

earned a master's degree in divinity from Mid-America Baptist Theological
Seminary in Memphis. He is currently working toward a doctorate in New
Testament Greek at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville.
Robert Warren Perry (KGSM87) of Santa
Barbara, Calif., is vice president and general manager of Medtronic Neurologic
Technologies in Goleta, Calif. He was elected to the California Healthcare
Institute's board of directors, which represents more than 200 biomedical
firms in the state.
Alan Blankman (WCAS88)
of Mahwah, N.J., is a sales operations manager for LeCroy Corp.
in Chestnut Ridge, N.Y., and his wife, Elena Schinasi Blankman
(WCAS91), is the manager
of global stock plans at Lucent Technologies in Murray Hill, N.J. Both
graduated from Stern School of Business at New York University in May
with master's degrees in business administration.
Anthony Chan (KGSM88) of San Jose,
Calif., is a cardiologist at Stanford. He originated MDVista.com in 1999
to bridge the gap between the quality of medical care in the United States
and Third World countries in Asia.
Marc S. Cohen (L88, KGSM88)
of Lincolnwood, Ill., founded SixtySeven Kilohertz Inc., a proprietary
network for delivering messages to portable electronic devices such as
CD and MP3 players and cellular telephones. Northwestern's Office of Strategic
Initiatives is providing him with office space, technical assistance and
special access to campus radio station WNUR-FM's secondary broadcast channel.
Howard Crystal (WCAS88)
of Washington, D.C., is a partner at the public interest law firm
of Meyer & Glitzenstein, focusing on wildlife and environmental litigation.
He and his wife, Ann Mesnikoff, their children, Sheina and Nathanial,
plus two cats and a dog live in the Capitol Hill area.
Lauren Gerber (SCS88) of Deerfield,
Ill., practices psychology in Deerfield and is the clinical and school
psychologist at the Joseph Sears School in Kenilworth, Ill. In conjunction
with the American Heart Association, she has actively promoted legislation
for public access to defibrillators. She was also instrumental in the
installation of defibrillators in north suburban Chicago public spaces
and police cars, which saved a teenager's life in the spring after he
was hit by a baseball.

Minn., is president of MindSharp Learning Centers in Bloomington, Minn.
Beth V. Kiernan (SESP88)
of San Diego is staying at home with her three sons. She eventually
plans to return to the field of public health.
Carol J. Levy (WCAS, M88)
of New York City is an endocrinologist and an assistant professor
of medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, N.Y.
Steven McGee (SESP88, GSESP96) of
Wheeling, W.Va., senior educational researcher at the NASA Classroom of
the Future, directs curriculum software projects used by schools throughout
the country. He graduated with a master's degree in business administration
from Wheeling Jesuit University in May and received the Russell E. Younkins
Award, given to the student with the highest grade average. He and his

Janette Moody (GMu88) of Oakland
is a vocalist and performed in The Glorious Hour Series at the
South Berkeley Community Church in Berkeley, Calif., in April. She has
performed on television, on- and off-Broadway and internationally. She
also appeared in a one-woman show in San Diego.

of Studio City, Calif., was named vice president, strategic alliances
of Loudeye Technologies in Seattle.
Ellen Puff (S88) of Minneapolis began
teaching 10th-grade English at Belle Plaine High School in Belle Plaine,
Minn., in the fall. She received a master's degree in secondary education
from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis in the summer.

minor league hockey in Texas.

finance. She received her doctorate in economics from Princeton University

of Indianapolis is a part-time legal counsel at Eli Lilly and Co. Her
husband, Mark (L92), is senior counsel
at Cummins Inc., based in Columbus, Ind.
Julie Slama (GJ89) of Sandy, Utah,
coordinates media relations at Salt Lake Community College, which has
54,000 students.
Lily Zaidman (KGSM89) of Sarasota,
Fla., is vice president of finance for Tropicana's North America commercial
operations, based in Bradenton, Fla.
