What does a nurse do?

Registered nurses (RNs)

Registered nurses provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members.

Advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs)

Advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) such as nurse anesthetists, nurse midwives, and nurse practitioners, coordinate patient care and they may provide primary and specialty health care. Sometimes they are called clinical nurse specialists.
