Our Mission
The Office of FGLI Initiatives leads campus collaboration on strategies and policies that support undergraduate students who identify as first-generation and/or lower-income. Our goal is to promote the success of FGLI students at Northwestern and to provide a holistic experience both in and out of the classroom.

Our Goals
Reporting to the Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education, the Office of FGLI Initiatives advocates for the success of FGLI students with faculty and staff across the many offices and units of the University.
Key areas of work include:
- Identifying and advancing the development of policies that attend to the emerging needs of first-generation and lower-income students at Northwestern.
- Collaborating with schools and units across campus to create and enhance policies that foster a campus community.
- Providing leadership, coordination, and support for programs intended to support first-generation and lower-income students in their academic endeavors at Northwestern.
