Moving Out and Damages

All applicable damages and missing keys to student rooms will be noted on the Room Condition Inventory you completed when you first moved into your residence hall room. As stated on the form:

I, the undersigned resident, understand that I am required to remove all belongings from my room and check-out with an approved staff member. I understand that it is my responsibility to locate an approved staff member at the time of check-out, complete the appropriate portions of this form, and surrender all keys to the staff member. I understand that should I neglect to follow these procedures I may be assessed a $35 improper check-out fee.

Information will be posted in every residence hall location regarding the building's specific check-out procedure and it is your responsibility to adhere to them. Failure to check-out with a staff member will result in your being held responsible for any damages deemed to be your responsibility.

Requests for administrative review of damage charges will be heard for no later than six weeks into the quarter following the charge to the account. All requests for review must be received via email to res-life@northwestern.edu.
