The Division of Student Affairs and the Office of Orientation and Parent Programs aim to serve both you and our students. To help familiarize you with Northwestern University, as well as help keep you connected to your new student, our office coordinates two programs for family members:

About Parent & Family Orientation (PFO)

Move-In Day marks the beginning of Wildcat Welcome, Northwestern's orientation program for new students. Northwestern offers parents and family members an orientation program of their own.  Parent and Family Orientation (PFO) events begin on Tuesday, September 15th and end on Wednesday, September 16th.  PFO includes campus tours, a campus resource fair,  receptions for parents with students living in residential colleges, academic school info-sessions, and various interest sessions related to campus life.

Meet Northwestern University's New President!

On September 15th, Dr. Morton Schapiro, Northwestern University President and Dr. Bill Banis, Vice President of Student Affairs will be hosting a Parent and Family Welcome and Reception.

Family Weekend 2009 is October 30-November 1

Register for Family Weekend! Family Weekend is held each fall to introduce parents of undergraduate students to their son's or daughter's campus life and help them become more familiar with Northwestern.The focus of this annual weekend is welcoming parents as members of the Northwestern community. Classroom visits, meetings with University administrators and deans, a president's convocation, receptions, and a Saturday Wildcat football game are among the planned activities.
