The Portuguese Placement test is only offered during Wildcat Welcome on Friday, September 21. On this day, you can come any time from 1 to 3 p.m. and take your test in room 1-145, Kresge Hall.

If you have previous knowledge of Portuguese and would like to continue your studies, you must take the written and oral placement exam offered by the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. The exam is based on the material covered in the Elementary Portuguese course, PORT 101-1,2,3 and the Intermediate Portuguese course, Port 121-1,2,3. The completion of the Intermediate course with a grade of C- or better satisfies the WCAS Foreign Language Proficiency requirement. For placement at the 200-level courses, a composition is also required.
