About the Office of Orientation and Parent Programs

The mission of Orientation and Parent Programs is to assist new students and parents during their transition to Northwestern University.

Three primary goals of the Office of Orientation and Parent Programs include:

  1. To build a comprehensive orientation program that serves as the initial introduction to the university's unique academic, cultural, and social community.
  2. To collaborate with academic schools and other university departments to intentionally connect educational events, programs, and activities that address a student's transition to Northwestern.
  3. To integrate students' families, where appropriate, into the transitional period.
