Northwestern University and Special Needs |
 |
Northwestern University is committed to the maintenance of an environment
free of discrimination and all forms of coercion that impede the academic
freedom or diminish the dignity of any member of the University community.
The University reaffirms this policy specifically as it pertains to
prevention of sexual harassment and to the obligation of male and female
students, faculty, administrators and staff in their capacities as
teachers and colleagues in this regard.
It is Northwestern University policy to ensure that no qualified student
with a disability is denied the benefits of, excluded from participation in,
or otherwise subjected to discrimination in any University program or
activity.
Assistance
In response to a request made by a qualified student with a
disability, the University will arrange, at no cost to the student, for the
provision of educational auxiliary aids, including sign-language
interpreters and/or real-time captioners, note takers, readers, and tutors,
determined by the University to be necessary to afford such student the
opportunity for full participation in University programs. Similar policy
applies to faculty and staff.
