Welcome to the Office of
Equal Opportunity and Access. This office provides leadership and resources which promote the University's commitment to diversity and equal opportunity.
In addition to providing campus-wide support, this office is also responsible for the following:
- Investigates complaints of unlawful discrimination in admission, employment, and access to University services. In addition, this office investigates complaints regarding treatment in University-sponsored programs and activities; and makes recommendations to responsible University representatives as appropriate.
- Represents the University before federal and state agencies as well as to the higher education community on issues related to affirmative action, equal opportunity, harassment, and diversity.
- Collaborates with campus units in the development of the University's Affirmative Action Plan.
- Assists units in the recruitment and retention of women, men and, persons with disabilities, and other under-represented groups.
- Provides training in equal opportunity, the Americans with Disabilities Act, diversity and other related topics as needed or by request.
- Provides technical assistance to faculty, students, staff, and administrators on diversity issues as well as on problems regarding discrimination and harassment.
- Advises faculty, staff, and students who believe they may have been subjected to harassment or discrimination.
- Maintains a cooperative relationship between the University and the local community.
- Serves as an informational resource to faculty, staff, students and the community.
