To File a Complaint

The Office of Equal Opportunity and Access responds to complaints filed by applicants and employees of Northwestern University who believe they have experienced discrimination or discriminatory harassment. Person who have no affiliation with Northwestern University may report campus incidents of discrimination and harassment to this office.

Confidentiality. All parties to these procedures should hold any information received or collected in confidence. Information will be protected to the extent permitted by law.

Retaliation. The University prohibits retaliation against anyone for registering a complaint pursuant to these policies, assisting another in making a complaint, or participating in an investigation under the policies. Anyone experiencing any conduct that he or she believes to be retaliatory should immediately report it to the Office of Equal Opportunity and Access, University Sexual Harassment Prevention Office, and the Division of Student Affairs (student-to-student incidents).

Appeal

The Office of Equal Opportunity and Access will provide a prompt response to complaints and reports of discrimination, discriminatory harassment and retaliation.
