Fraternity & Sorority Life
Fraternities and sororities have been a part of Northwestern University since 1859. These organizations play an important role in the lives of thousands of students and alumni. Their educational programs, social activities, service projects, and leadership development opportunities contribute much to the Northwestern University community. Northwestern currently has 46 chapters across four governing councils, and a total membership of more than 3,000 students. Fraternity and sorority members comprise approximately 40 percent of the campus community.
