Application form with proposed research, art, activist, and other proposed projects to engage Northwestern University
Names and contact info of three professional references
Fellowship Review and Selection Process
Applications are accepted online from February 1st-March 15th, 2020
Applications are blind. They will be reviewed by a selection committee comprised of Northwestern faculty and staff in April.
Final candidates are submitted to Northwestern’s Office of Research for final approval. If the finalist is international, the International Office will also review their application.
Fellowship awardees and other applicants will be notified in May of each year
Feminist in Residence Onboarding Requirements
Residents will complete visiting Scholar Health Insurance Application/Waiver, required before the visitor’s start date
Attend orientation and planning session with Women’s Center staff
1 full academic year (note: Northwestern University operates on a quarter system. The academic year begins in the 3rd week of September and ends during the 3rd week in June. Those who work on semester systems can propose alternate start-end dates)
Three (3) engagements/events on Chicago campus
One (1) campus engagement on Evanston campus
Attendance at 4 Women’s Center events: Fall/October-Meet the Resident reception and Open House; Winter/March-Symposium; Spring/June-Garden Party
Optional: One community-based engagement or online engagement
