Every year, the Women's Center produces dozens of programs and provides ongoing support to three unique constituencies on Northwestern's Campus. For thirty plus years we have led the way on gender equity and initiatives of diversity and inclusion. In the past few years alone, the Women's Center piloted the Changemakers program, organized several events in conjunction with the One Book selections The Handmaid's Tale and Hidden Figures, expanded our support of parents, formalized our feminist coaching, served on the Gender Queer, Non-Binary, Transgender Task Force, and has seen our Director move into the role of Interim Chief Diversity Officer.
We have brought to campus speakers like Dolores Huerta, Kathryn Ogletree, and Yolanda Flores Niemann, produced the Women's History Month Annual Symposium, run brown bags and workshops, TV nights and exam-time relaxation. We advise College Feminists in their work for Sex Week and Take Back the Night and respond in kind to those efforts by hosting community care days during sexual assault awareness month.
And yet there is great deal more we'd like to do. The Women's Center would like to improve our technology, expand the feminist art on our walls, and increase our programming and people power. Your contributions equal less time spent writing grants and seeking co-sponsors and more time focusing on programming, education, support, and advocacy for our communities.
