Summer employment through Northwestern units and programs come in a variety of forms. You can help create a great experience for others in the Northwestern community – including young people experiencing Northwestern through a variety of summer programs.
Work with Young People on Campus
- The Northwestern University College Preparation Program hires Northwestern students to help guide high school students through a summer of learning and fun at Northwestern. Positions include residential advisors, teaching assistants and front desk attendants.
- The Center for Talent Development offers an opportunity to join a community of staff who are passionate about helping students realize their full potential. From early childhood through high school, help academically advanced students delve into a subject of interest, build upon their strengths, and connect with a community of peers. There are a variety of roles – in the classroom, residence halls and as support staff.

The Theatre Division at the National High School Institute offers a unique opportunity for theater majors to join a community of staff who are passionate about helping high school theater students realize their full potential. Resident Assistants in this program assistant-teach in the classroom, assistant-direct a production and mentor students in the classroom and dorm, as well as have an opportunity to work alongside theater artists from around the country.

The Film Division at the National High School Institute offers a unique opportunity for Northwestern film majors to join a community of staff who are passionate about helping high school filmmakers realize their full potential. Resident Assistants in this program assistant-teach in the classroom, mentor students on their film sets and have the opportunity to work alongside professional filmmakers from around the country.
