How Do I Make Sure Schools Receive My Letter Packet?

List Your Letter Packet Correctly On Your Application

Be sure you have listed your letter packet correctly on your application(s)! Review the instructions on Listing Your Letter Packet before proceeding with the instructions below!

Give Us Permission to Release your Letter Packet

Once you are certain that all of your requested letters of recommendation have been submitted (you can check the status of your letters in your Inspire Letters of Evaluation planner), you will need to notify our office that you are ready for us to submit your letter packet to your chosen application systems. To do this, follow the instructions listed below.


In order to inform our office that you are ready for us to upload your completed letter packet to your application systems, you must:

  1. Use the instructions linked above to ensure you have listed your letter packet correctly on your application system(s).
  2. Double check your Letters of Evaluation planner page in Inspire to ensure that all of your letters have been submitted.
  3. Select "Application Information" in the left-hand navigation bar from your Letters of Evaluation planner.
  4. Check the box stating you are ready for the HPA office to send your packet.
  5. Double check to make sure all of the correct application and letter ID information is listed correctly in the "Primary Application Services" section of the same page.
  6. Sign your name and click "CONFIRM."
  7. Once we create your letter packet and after it is reviewed by an HPA advisor and Director, it will be uploaded through the letter writer portal of your chosen application system(s). *Please note this review process generally takes 2 - 3 business days.
  8. You will receive an automatically-generated email from your application system(s) once the packet has been uploaded, and and also be able to see this status reflected in Inspire.

For Post-Baccalaureate Programs:

  1. Complete steps 1-6 listed above.
  2. Send an email to and let us know which post-bacc programs you will be submitting to, and the process for letter packet submission for each program.
  3. The Rec-File office will send you an email confirmation once your letter packet has been submitted.
  4. NOTE: the above information is not applicable for electronic post-baccalaureate applications that require the listed recommender to evaluate a student’s performance. Our office does not provide that service.
