Finding Your Fit

There will be many transitions throughout your Northwestern experience. Whether transitioning from high school, another institution, commuting to or living on campus, these experiences can present new challenges and opportunities. Additionally, a key part of the undergraduate experience for students heading toward a career in the health professions is working toward and preparing for the transition to a professional program.

Finding the right fit in a health profession program can begin by researching a number of programs and schools over time to help you evaluate the differences in those programs and schools For example, seeking alignment with the school’s mission, curriculum, faculty diversity, or location are some examples of key considerations. You may also be searching for an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive environment to excel in your chosen health profession. With these ideas in mind, the following resources aim to support your research. Attending first or second look sessions offered by an admissions office can be a great way of finding out more details about the school or program you are considering. This will also give you the opportunity to interact with fellow applicants and potentially meet some of your future classmates.
