PPE supplies for fall
Dear staff,
Northwestern has shifted away from centrally managing personal protective equipment (PPE), which included an online ordering form as well as management of the stands that have been in the entryways of most buildings on campus for the past two and a half years. Procurement and Payment Services has established a unit-based ordering system for these materials. Therefore, departments and schools are now responsible for stocking any stands that they chose to retain in their areas.
To support units that need masks, hand sanitizer bottles, disinfectant wipes and other PPE, Procurement and Payment Services has created a multi-vendor catalog in iBuyNU. Departments and schools should use this catalog to order and pay for these supplies. For the research community, three-ply disposable masks also may be purchased from the Fisher stockrooms on both campuses.
Members of the University community are encouraged to bring their own masks to campus. A limited supply of free KN95 masks and disposable surgical masks are available on an individual basis at the Evanston testing site in the Jacobs Center, the service desk of the Norris University Center, and in the lobby of the Chicago testing site at 345 E. Superior St. The 5,000 Ecolab hand sanitizer dispensers that were installed in 2020 throughout all buildings on both campuses will continue to be refilled by central custodial services.
Instructions for ordering PPE are posted online. If you have questions, please contact Procurement and Payment Services.
Thank you,
Jim Konrad
