At-home COVID-19 test kits for Spring Break travelers

Dear students,

Northwestern has secured a limited supply of at-home COVID-19 test kits that are now available to students ahead of anticipated travel for Spring Break.

Students may pick up one at-home test kit (containing two individual tests) from in-person testing sites at the Jacobs Center in Evanston or 345 E. Superior St. in Chicago. These kits will be distributed 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8 through Friday, March 11 and Monday, March 14 through Friday, March 18, or until supplies run out. Free at-home tests also are available through the federal government.

At-home testing is not required but is encouraged for students who plan to spend significant time outside of the Northwestern community. We suggest taking one test in the kit before traveling and the other before returning to campus. Northwestern’s on-site testing will remain open during regular hours over Spring Break.

Students who test positive for COVID-19 via at-home tests should submit their test results by clicking on “Report COVID-19 Test Results” through the link provided and following the prompts. (Please do not report results via the Navica app.) By reporting positive cases, students can help us monitor and appropriately respond to spikes in case numbers by implementing further testing or quarantines.

Thank you for your commitment to a safe and healthy Northwestern community.

Sincerely,

Luke Figora
Vice President for Operations
