Program Description:

With its magnificent harbor, ocean side beaches, modern skyscrapers, and multi-cultural population, it is not hard to understand why Sydney is such a popular destination for people from around the world. While its physical beauty is impressive, the history and diversity of Sydney are equally important contributors to making it such a great place to study. Sydney was Australia's first settlement, and there are plenty of opportunities to explore this history in museums throughout the city as well as simply wandering through some of the residential neighborhoods. These neighborhoods will also provide a vivid picture of the diversity of Sydney. It's not hard to find Italian, Vietnamese, Chinese, Greek, and Lebanese neighborhoods, just to name a few of the diverse cultures that make up Australia today.

UNSW is an enormous, comprehensive university with LOTS of Americans studying abroad.  In fact, location, size and academic rigor are a few of the characteristics of the University of New South Wales (UNSW) that attract certain study abroad students. With more than 30,000 students UNSW has a very lively campus community.  It is located in the Kensington and Coogee Beach neighborhoods of Sydney, near countless shops, restaurants, and recreational venues , and more than 15 miles of coastline with beautiful walking trails.
