Northwestern Requirements for this program:

  • Northwestern students are required to enroll in at least 15 credits per semester which is generally equal to 5 courses.
  • You are required to live in housing arranged by DIS, either in homestays or a kollegium.
  • You are required to take a Danish language course while enrolled at DIS.

DIS Program Requirements: Certain courses are required as prerequisites for some programs. Please check the DIS website for further information.

 

Program Description:

The DIS curriculum is subdivided into a number of programs, such as European Culture & History and International Business & Economics, each with a specific academic focus. In addition to taking core courses specific to your program, you can choose from over 120 courses taught across a spectrum of majors, but each through a Danish, Scandinavian or European lens.

Application Requirements for this Program:
  1. All study abroad students must complete the mandatory Study Abroad 101 Quiz on Blackboard.  Call (847-467-6400) or e-mail studyabroad@northwestern.edu (include your name and net ID) to be registered for this quiz.
  2. After completing the 101 Quiz with a score of 90% or above, students can pick up the Northwestern University Application for Permission to Study Abroad at the Study Abroad Office. This application is not available online.
  3. Students must complete the Northwestern University Application for Permission to Study Abroad by the specified deadline.
  4. In addition, students must also complete a one page DIS form which should be submitted with the above application. This form can be downloaded here.
