| Program Description: |
Budapest Semesters in Mathematics courses comprise 14 weeks of teaching plus one week of exams. Each course usually meets three to four times per week for a total of 42 contact hours per semester. This program is comprised of upper-Level mathematics courses taught in English by eminent Hungarian professors from the Technical University of Budapest.

| Academic Specialties of this program: |
Students should have completed one semester of advanced calculus or abstract algebra by the start of the program. Sample math courses include Conjecture and Proof, Combinatorics, Theory of Computing, Advanced Algebra, and Topics in Analysis.

Very high level mathematics program suited only for the most proficient and well prepared Northwestern mathematics students.

| Application Requirements for this Program: |
- All study abroad students must complete the mandatory Study Abroad 101 Quiz on Blackboard. Call (847-467-6400) or e-mail studyabroad@northwestern.edu (include your name and net ID) to be registered for this quiz.
- After completing the 101 Quiz with a score of 90% or above, students can pick up the Northwestern University Application for Permission to Study Abroad at the Study Abroad Office. This application is not available online.
- Students must complete the Northwestern University Application for Permission to Study Abroad by the specified deadline.
- In addition, St. Olaf’s requires students to complete their own Program Application. This application (and specified deadline) can be found on the St. Olaf’s College website.
