NICO seeks multiple post-doctoral researchers
The Northwestern Institute for Complexity (NICO) at Northwestern University seeks multiple post-doctoral researchers and research professors interested in problems of far-reaching, broad ranging research on complex systems. NICO is an interdisciplinary research institute that enjoys membership of an international faculty from a wide variety of departments in the physical, social, and humanity sciences. The position may involve theoretical modeling, computations, experiments, and writing proposals. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in physics, engineering, or information sciences fields with experience in areas such as statistical physics, nonlinear dynamics, simulations, or data analysis. Strong writing skills, demonstrated success in conducting high impact research, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills are mandatory. 2 and 3 year appointments begin as soon as January 1, 2012 with extensions beyond that possible. The research will be performed at Northwestern University located in a culturally and socially diverse suburb of Chicago on the shores of Lake Michigan under the direction of NICO faculty who are leading experts in complex systems in their respective scientific disciplines.
