The Master's program in Neurobiology and Physiology gives students the opportunity to earn a graduate degree in one year of intensive study. The curriculum provides focused classroom instruction and independent hands-on research training.

The Master’s degree provides students with the training and experience to become project leaders in their chosen career path – medicine, industry, academic research, or teaching.

Students choose a master’s program for a variety of reasons. Some simply want to explore the opportunities of world-class basic research without the five-year commitment of a PhD program.

A master’s degree in neurobiology and physiology is also the ideal preparation for a career in medicine. Graduates of the program have gone on to MD or MD/PhD programs at places such as Rush Medical Center, the University of Minnesota, the University of Illinois at Chicago, Thomas Jefferson University, Chicago Medical School, and Tulane University.

Still others are focused on a career in academic or industrial research. Graduates of the program have gone on to successful careers with Pfizer, Northwestern, and Harvard, among others.
