Attorney Biography

Scott L. Warner joined Northwestern University as Assistant General Counsel in 2002 and was promoted to Associate General Counsel in 2004. Prior to joining the Office of General Counsel, Mr. Warner was an associate at the firm of Sidley Austin in Chicago, where he specialized in product liability, mass tort, and commercial litigation. Prior to joining Sidley Austin, Mr. Warner completed a judicial clerkship with District Judge Jay C. Waldman in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Warner received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. Mr. Warner is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys.

Mr. Warner’s principal area of responsibility in the Office of General Counsel is student affairs. He also advises on a variety of other issues regarding affirmative action, admissions, regulatory compliance, and policy development and review.
