Attorney Biography

Stephanie M. Graham became Deputy General Counsel at Northwestern University in September 2001. She joined the University's legal staff as assistant general counsel in 1993 and was promoted to associate general counsel in 1996. Prior to her appointment at Northwestern University, Ms. Graham was a labor and employment litigation attorney with Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal in Chicago, Illinois.

Ms. Graham received a bachelor’s degree Magna Cum Laude with High Distinction in history from the University of Illinois and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Ms. Graham received a J.D. degree with honors from the University of Chicago Law School.

Ms. Graham is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA). She teaches a graduate level course titled, “Legal Issues in Higher Education,” in Northwestern University’s School of Education and Social Policy.
