Jinhee Heo

Jinhee Heo is a junior at Northwestern University majoring in Creative Writing and Asian American Studies. They are a first generation college student and Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow from Lexington, Massachusetts. Their academic interests include the Korean diaspora, postcolonial literature, and asexuality studies. Their current research centers on representations of han in American literature and alternatives to ethnonationalist identity formation in the Korean diaspora, particularly for women.

 

As a Matriculate college advisor and member of Northwestern University’s Multicultural Student Affairs team, Jinhee is committed to educational equity, accessibility, and diversity. They are also a leader of Grounding for Public Service, a place-based learning program that connects Northwestern students to community leaders in Evanston and Chicago. Jinhee enjoys long walks, baking, and journaling in their free time.
