Bryan Cárcamo 2025

Bryan CárcamoBryan Cárcamo Aceves hails from Compton, California, and is a proud product of the local public school system. He is a first-generation, low-income student of color at Northwestern University, majoring in Latina and Latino studies. Bryan’s academic and research interests are grounded in his personal and family experiences with immigration, particularly undocumented immigration, and issues of race and ethnicity. As the child of Mexican immigrants, he is committed to honoring his parents' sacrifices through his academic and research pursuits. To this end, Bryan has participated in several programs, including the Emerging Scholars Program (ESP), the Council for Race and Ethnic Studies (CRES) Undergraduate Fellowship, the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship (MMUF), the Posse Summer Leadership Award (PSLA), and the Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP). Through these programs, he plans to collaborate with mentors and community organizations on research projects at the intersection of undocumented immigration and race/ethnicity. Outside of academia, Bryan is a Posse Scholar and a QuestBridge Scholar. He is also an organizer with Students Organizing for Labor Rights (SOLR) and the Undergraduate Prison Education Partnership (UPEP).
