Keala Uchoa (she/her)

Keala Uchôa is an alumna of the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, where she pursued an ad hoc major entitled Critical Race Environmental Justice Studies and a minor in Legal Studies. Her MMUF thesis research focused on the experiences of incarcerated folks at Cook County Jail during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic to conceptualize an abolitionist ecological analytical and political framework. In addition to participating in MMUF, she re-founded Fossil Free Northwestern, an abolitionist Environmental Justice organization, and served as a peer leader for the SESP Leadership Institute. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she was born and raised.
