Kourtni is currently a senior studying Cognitive Science and Creative Writing in Weinberg. Following her first year at Northwestern she spent her summer as a Posner Fellow conducting research on intonation in different varieties of English. Kourtni spent her sophomore year working as a research assistant in  Professor Jennifer Cole’s prosody lab and has used her time with the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship to further explore her interests in cognitive science and literature. Kourtni is currently interested in doing research in cognitive poetics and plans to center the works of Black poets and novelists in her research for her senior thesis.
