Paul Salamanca '18

Paul Salamanca

As a senior in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, Paul studied Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences, and Sociology with a  focus on gender and health. In graduate school, Paul would like to pursue medical sociology or anthropology, and focus on disparities in health outcomes due to race, gender, and sexuality. He was attracted to these areas of study due to his firm belief that good health is a human right. Additionally, he has been greatly inspired by his experiences as a Filipino American and with the LGBTQ community, which has challenged him to think critically through an intersectional lens about his own identity and education. Presently, Paul does research at the highly competitive Feinberg Department of Medical Social Sciences as a research assistant.
