Fatima Gomez '17
Fatima Gomez is a Chicana from Milwaukee majoring in Latina/o Studies and Creative Writing (Poetry), and minoring in Anthropology. She is particularly interested in how expressive cultures serve to heal people with marginalized identities, how these forms of expressive culture are appropriated, and how marginalized people go about reclaiming appropriated forms of expressive culture. She will be conducting research on the various meanings of La Virgen de Guadalupe in the summer of 2015. Fatima is also a Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholar.
