Cinthya Rodriguez '16

Cinthya graduated from the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences with dual majors in Latina/o Studies and African American Studies, and a minor in Asian American Studies. Because she grew up on the Southwest Side of Chicago, Cinthya has always shown a strong commitment to liberatory education and grassroots organizing. Cinthya completed a senior thesis describing the institutionalization of Ethnic Studies in Chicago public schools by understanding Chicago as a settler colonial city, and the Chicago Public Schools system as constituted through racial governance. Though currently job searching, she plans to continue to pursue research interests grounded in her activism, and seek to trace a genealogy of Chicana/o and Palestinian solidarity. Eventually, she plans to continue this work in graduate school.
