Ariana Steele '16
Ariana graduated from the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences with a double major in Linguistics and Cognitive Science. She recently completed her senior thesis on the subject of reverse linguistic stereotyping. Ariana studies sociophonetics, and is particularly interested in how sound may be appropriated via power structures. This past year, Ariana presented a paper at the 2015 The International Congress of Phonetic Sciences. Ariana is currently pursuing a PhD in Linguistics at Ohio State University.
