About Mung Chiang

Mung Chiang will become Northwestern’s 18th president when he assumes the role in July. He comes to Northwestern from Purdue University, where he served as president since 2023. A renowned researcher, educator, national science advisor and higher education leader, Chiang has focused on expanding discovery, supporting students and faculty, championing free expression and preparing universities for the future.
