Dining on campus? See what’s changed this quarter

In the pandemic, not much in our daily routine remains unchanged. That also applies to eating with friends in a Northwestern dining hall or stopping in for a quick snack at a campus cafe.

But this quarter, Northwestern Dining still offers tasty meals, healthful grab-and-go options through the Boost mobile app and plenty of distanced seating at locations across campus.

Faculty Accolades

Office of the Provost announces awards for service, diversity, equity and curriculum

Regan Thomson and Sandra Waxman will receive the Provost Award for Exemplary Faculty Service.

Myrna García and the diversity, equity and inclusion committee of the physical therapy and human movement sciences department at Feinberg will receive the Daniel Linzer Award for Faculty Excellence in Diversity and Equity. The committee is composed of Roberto Lopez-Rosado, Tobey DeMott Yeates, Ana Maria Acosta and Heather Henderson.

Kasey Evans, Kelly Wisecup and Marcela A. Fuentes have been named 2021 recipients of The Alumnae of Northwestern University’s Award for Curriculum Innovation.

Your toothbrush reflects you, not your toilet

After studying microbial communities living on bristles from used toothbrushes, Northwestern researchers found those communities matched microbes commonly found inside the mouth and on skin rather than, as some might fear, in the aerosol particles generated by flushing a toilet.
