From Charles Manski, Scientific American

“In this emergency, it is not enough for the National Academy of Sciences to speak up from its grass roots, as in 2016 or 2018. It must now speak as an institution if it is to fulfill its responsibilities to the nation and maintain its relevance in the future,” Weinberg’s Charles Manski writes in Scientific American.

Supreme Court misses the reality of EPA clean water act permits

From Robert Weinstock and Alexa Longstaff, Bloomberg Law

“When the U.S. Supreme Court invalidated the Environmental Protection Agency’s use of ‘end-result’ requirements in Clean Water Act permits on March 4, the court failed to engage with how permitting actually works. The decision imposes impractical burdens on agencies and could lead to a more adversarial permit process and less effective permits,” Northwestern Law’s Robert Weinstock and Alexa Longstaff write in Bloomberg Law.
